The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education (Superintendent Do Seong-hoon) has begun to support the stable design of the curriculum in schools in line with the introduction of the 2022 revised curriculum for all elementary school grades.
On the 3rd, the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education announced that it will distribute the 'Core Understanding Materials for the 2022 Revised Curriculum' and the 'Reading, Walking, Writing (Reading, Walking, Writing) Project Operation Casebook' to all elementary schools in the district.
This materials collection was planned to enhance teachers' understanding of the '2022 Revised Curriculum', which will be applied to all elementary grades starting this year, and to assist in the operation of distinctive curricula at each school. The office plans to complete the distribution by mid-February, when each school is establishing its new academic year plans.
In particular, this materials collection was produced in a leaflet format with enhanced visual elements to increase its practical use in the field. The main contents include a core analysis of the revised curriculum (methods for organizing and operating school autonomy time, strengthening career-linked education and information education, etc.) and the presentation of the Incheon-type educational model (specific curriculum design cases linked to the 'Reading, Walking, Writing' project, which is a key initiative of the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education).
An official from the office stated, "The design of the new academic year curriculum is a key process that supports the growth of each individual student," and added, "We will continue to communicate and support to ensure that the revised curriculum is firmly established in the field and that the education linked to Reading, Walking, Writing is effectively implemented."
Meanwhile, the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education will not stop at distributing materials but will activate a practical support system in the field. In collaboration with five education support offices, it will focus on operating 'Curriculum Design Workshops and Consulting Visiting Schools' in February, and plans to closely support the establishment of customized curricula for each school.
