Gyeyang-gu Confirms 64.4 Billion Won Budget for Disability Welfare... Construction of 'Comprehensive Nuri Center' to Begin in March

Incheon Metropolitan City Gyeyang-gu (Mayor Yoon Hwan) has significantly increased this year's disability welfare budget compared to last year and is accelerating the construction of the 'Comprehensive Nuri Center', which will be a key hub for disability welfare.

On the 19th, Gyeyang-gu announced that it held the '2026 Disability Welfare Committee' in the video conference room of the district office to review this year's major project plans and directions for implementation. The meeting was attended by 12 experts, including leaders of disability organizations, university professors, and heads of welfare facilities, who discussed ways to enhance the effectiveness of policies.

This year's disability welfare budget for Gyeyang-gu is set at 64.492 billion won for a total of 58 projects. This figure represents an increase of about 3.5 billion won compared to last year, and the district aims to establish a more stable and comprehensive support system for disability welfare through this budget.

In particular, the meeting focused on the construction plan for the 'Gyeyang-gu Comprehensive Nuri Center', which is a long-awaited project for local people with disabilities. This center, which will serve as a hub for disability welfare services, is set to begin construction in March. The committee members agreed that the center should be more than just a facility, but a practical base that helps people with disabilities participate in society and achieve independence.

Mayor Yoon Hwan stated, "I will actively reflect the vivid voices from the field proposed through the committee into policies," and added, "We will continuously discover specialized customized welfare services unique to Gyeyang-gu so that local people with disabilities can feel changes in their daily lives."
