Jung Yu-jeong, Bupyeong District Council Member, "Audit Center Report Delayed, Can't Be a Blackout Report Under the Pretext of Objections" Expresses Strong Regret

Jung Yu-jeong, Bupyeong District Council Member (Democratic Party·Bupyeong 3-dong, Sangok 3·4-dong, Sipjeong 1·2-dong) strongly criticized the attitude of the audit office, which is delaying the report on the specific audit of the Bupyeong Regional Self-Support Center, and urged for transparent communication in administration.

During the administrative welfare committee's work report held on the 28th, Council Member Jung stated, "The self-support center is a place that teaches residents 'how to catch fish' to help them become self-sufficient, but due to the poor management of the center heads, its fundamental function has been paralyzed. Despite this being a repeated issue for several years, the administrative guidance and inspection have not been properly conducted, leading to this situation," she pointed out.

On this day, Council Member Jung's inquiry focused on whether the progress of the audit was being 'shared'. She emphasized, "A thorough investigation was conducted during the administrative audit, and many citizens are closely watching this matter," and added, "The refusal of the interim report requested by the council on the grounds of 'objection period' is an act that disregards the council, which represents the voices of the residents."

In response, the auditor stated, "Even if we prepare a request for disposition and notify the relevant institution by February 20, we must legally guarantee a one-month objection period," and maintained that "it is procedurally difficult to disclose specific issues that have not been finalized in advance." This means that specific details will only be reported after March 23.

Council Member Jung questioned this response, saying, "In my experience with public institutions, it is extremely rare for objections to be accepted," and asked, "Even if it is not finalized, shouldn't we communicate closely with the council to alleviate concerns if we recognize the seriousness of the issues?"

Ultimately, Council Member Jung expressed deep regret over the audit office's stubborn attitude, stating, "The administration is not actively reflecting the opinions of the citizens," and warned, "I will discuss with my fellow council members to see if there are other ways to receive the interim report," before concluding her inquiry.
