Incheon Bupyeong District has announced that it will officially launch the '2026 Visiting Empathy Laundry Service' project from February, targeting vulnerable groups who have mobility difficulties or poor laundry conditions.
This project provides free home laundry services for residents who have difficulty with laundry, such as low-income seniors, people with disabilities, and single-parent families, with local self-sufficiency centres responsible for collecting and delivering laundry, while disability protection workshops handle the washing.
It has received high satisfaction from residents, including elderly individuals living alone and households with disabilities who struggle with laundry, and it also contributes to job creation for vulnerable groups by providing jobs for self-sufficiency workers and disabled workers.
Residents who participated in the project last year said, "It helped not having to carry heavy blankets around," and "Thanks to the clean blankets, my living environment has become more pleasant."
A Bupyeong District official stated, "The Visiting Empathy Laundry Service is a community-based welfare project that alleviates everyday inconveniences," adding, "We will continue to expand welfare services that enhance the quality of life for residents."
Meanwhile, this project, which started in 2018, has established itself as an essential welfare service in the region and will continue to operate throughout the year. For inquiries, please contact the Bupyeong District Welfare Policy Division (☎509-6374) or your local administrative welfare centre.
