Incheon Bupyeong-gu announced that it will officially launch the '2026 Visiting Empathy Laundry Service' project starting in February, targeting vulnerable groups who have mobility issues or poor laundry conditions.

This project provides free home laundry services for residents who have difficulty with laundry, including low-income seniors, people with disabilities, and single-parent families. The local self-sufficiency center will handle the collection and delivery of laundry, while a protected workshop for people with disabilities will be responsible for the laundry itself.

The service has received high satisfaction from residents such as elderly individuals living alone and households with disabilities who struggle with laundry, and it also contributes to job creation for vulnerable groups by providing jobs to self-sufficiency workers and workers with disabilities.

Residents who participated in the project last year said, "It helped me not to have to carry heavy blankets around," and "Thanks to the clean blankets, my living environment has become more comfortable."

A Bupyeong-gu official stated, "The Visiting Empathy Laundry Service is a community-based welfare project that alleviates daily inconveniences," and added, "We will continue to expand welfare services that improve the quality of life for residents."

Meanwhile, this project started in 2018 and has established itself as an essential welfare service in the community, and it will continue to operate throughout this year. For inquiries, please contact the Bupyeong-gu Welfare Policy Division (☎509-6374) or your local administrative welfare center.
