Kim Dong-min, Bupyeong District Councilor (Democratic Party of Korea·Bupyeong 2, 5, 6-dong, Bugae 1-dong, Ilshin-dong), has declared his candidacy for Incheon City Council in the upcoming local elections. Councilor Kim is preparing for the party primary as he challenges for the Incheon Bupyeong District 2 constituency.

Councilor Kim recently announced on his Facebook that he has completed the document registration for the qualification review of the Incheon City Council preliminary candidates. He also formalized his challenge for the metropolitan councilor position in a subsequent media interview.

The Bupyeong District 2 constituency, where Councilor Kim has declared his candidacy, includes Bupyeong 2-dong, Bupyeong 5-dong, Bupyeong 6-dong, Bugae 1-dong, and Ilshin-dong, and is currently represented by Yoo Kyung-hee, an incumbent city councilor from the same party. As a result, intra-party competition in this electoral district seems inevitable.
