Declaration of Candidacy for Bupyeong District Mayor by Former Incheon City Councilor Kim Byeong-gi: "I Will Change the Economic Structure of Bupyeong"

Former Incheon City Councilor Kim Byeong-gi, affiliated with the Democratic Party, officially declared his candidacy for the Bupyeong District Mayor election to be held on June 3. This is the first declaration of candidacy among the candidates for Bupyeong District Mayor.

On the morning of the 2nd at 9:30 AM, Kim held a press conference in the briefing room of the Incheon Bupyeong District Office, stating, "As a finance and public finance expert, I will create a new economy for Bupyeong," and added, "I will lead economic changes that residents can feel in their daily lives."

Kim, a finance and public finance expert who completed the Advanced Financial Management Program at Seoul National University, has accumulated extensive experience in the financial field, having served as the branch manager of Kookmin Bank's Galsan branch and the chief branch manager in Guwol-dong.

In the 2018 7th National Simultaneous Local Elections, he ran as a candidate for the Democratic Party and was elected as a member of the Incheon City Council from the 4th electoral district of Bupyeong (Sangok 1·2-dong, Cheongcheon 1·2-dong), serving as the 8th Incheon City Councilor. In the city council, he was active in the Industry and Economy Committee and the Special Committee on Budget and Settlement.

Additionally, during the 21st presidential election, he served as an economic advisor for the campaign committee of candidate Lee Jae-myung. He was the secretary of the local committee for Democratic Party member Park Seon-won (Bupyeong-eul) and served as the vice-chairman of the Democratic Party's Policy Committee.

On that day, Kim emphasized, "Based on the experience I have built through finance, public finance, and legislative activities, I will fundamentally improve the economic structure of Bupyeong," and stated, "I will revitalize the living economy and create a virtuous cycle structure for the local economy."

In particular, as a measure to revitalize the local economy, he said, "I will create an environment where local small businesses can stand again," and added, "I will significantly expand the credit guarantee contribution limit for Bupyeong District to ensure that low-interest funds are smoothly supplied to the field."
