[Local Election] Lee An-ho, former Chair of Michuhol District, challenges for Michuhol 3 City Council seat "I will be a strong support for our neighbours with honesty that does not lose its original intention"

Lee An-ho, the former Chair of Incheon Michuhol District Council, has officially declared his candidacy for the Incheon Metropolitan City Council in the upcoming June 3 local elections (the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections). He aims to leverage the administrative expertise he has built over three terms as a local councillor to participate in city governance and drive regional development.

The former Chair recently announced on his Facebook that he has submitted the application documents for the qualification review as a preliminary candidate for the Democratic Party. In his statement of candidacy, he emphasised, "I will walk step by step, steadily, and I will be a strong support for our neighbours with honesty that does not lose its original intention."

The Michuhol District's 3rd electoral district (Sungui 1·3-dong, Sungui 2·4-dong, Yonghyeon 1·4-dong, Yonghyeon 2·3-dong, Hakik 2-dong) where the former Chair is challenging is currently classified as a so-called 'no man's land' in the local political arena. This is because the incumbent Incheon City Councillor Lee Bong-rak, affiliated with the People Power Party, has already announced his decision not to run in the next election and to retire from politics. Consequently, there is keen interest in how the former Chair's high recognition and experience as a three-term district councillor will influence the early stages of the election.
