A second elementary school will be established in Incheon Gyeyang New Town (Gyeyang Techno Valley). The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education announced on the 30th that the establishment plan for (tentatively named) Gyeyang 3 Elementary School received appropriate approval at the '2026 First Central Investment Review' hosted by the Ministry of Education.

The (tentatively named) Gyeyang 3 Elementary School is planned to be established with a scale of 40 classes, including an attached kindergarten and special classes, within the public housing district of Gyeyang Techno Valley. The city office of education is set to actively promote related administrative procedures with the goal of opening in September 2029.

The establishment of this school is a proactive measure to respond to the large influx of population due to the development of Gyeyang New Town. The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education anticipates that over 900 elementary school students will move into the area as approximately 6,000 households are expected to be occupied.

Through the establishment of this elementary school, the city office of education expects to provide a stable educational foundation within Gyeyang New Town and to effectively guarantee students' right to learn and commute.

Do Sung-hoon, the Superintendent of the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education, stated, "The establishment of this school is a measure to ensure that students can learn in a safe and pleasant environment, going beyond simply expanding educational facilities," and added, "We will continue to closely analyse educational demand arising from local development and build a balanced educational infrastructure continuously."
