As the Lunar New Year approaches, acts of sharing that convey warmth to the community continue. The Sangok 1-dong Administrative Welfare Centre announced on the 29th that it received a donation of 500kg of white rice for the '2026 Lunar New Year Neighbourly Love Sharing' from Sangok Methodist Church located in Sangok 1-dong.
The donated rice consists of 50 bags of 10kg each, which will be distributed to vulnerable groups in the area, including elderly individuals living alone and people with disabilities, as well as low-income families. This is expected to provide practical help to neighbours who face increased living burdens during the holiday season.
Sangok Methodist Church has consistently engaged in community sharing activities. In addition to operating a free meal service called 'Red Rice Truck' for those at risk of food insecurity, it has been practising solidarity with the community through various forms of service, including protection and care activities for vulnerable groups.
Pastor Jo Jae-jin stated, "I hope that this small gesture shared during the Lunar New Year will bring comfort and hope to those in need," and added, "We will not stop our neighbourly love sharing in collaboration with the community in the future."
Jeon Mi-hee, the head of Sangok 1-dong, expressed gratitude, saying, "I appreciate the warm heart of Sangok Methodist Church, which always puts neighbours first," and assured, "The donated rice will be carefully delivered to those who truly need help."
