The Yeonsu District Council Autonomous City Committee (Chairman Jeong Bo-hyun) held its first meeting of the 277th Temporary Session on the 30th and announced that it reviewed a total of 5 ordinance proposals, including the 'Partial Amendment to the Incheon Metropolitan City Yeonsu District Building Management Ordinance', and one report.
The first item discussed at this meeting was the amendment to the building management ordinance, which includes details to specify the scope of permits to ensure safety during building demolition. Initially, the district office proposed a permit scope within 20 meters of crosswalks with traffic lights, but Commissioner Gi Hyeong-seo suggested widening the scope, stating, "Blind spots can occur regardless of the presence of traffic lights." Consequently, the committee amended the proposal by removing the phrase 'with traffic lights' to manage demolition work around all crosswalks as a permit target.
The operational basis for the 'Songdo Cultural Maru', established above the automatic underground collection facility in Songdo District 8, was also prepared. Jeon Hyun-young, the Director of the Culture and Tourism Department, stated, "We plan to start pilot operations in May after completion in April." During the review process, Commissioner Byeon Yong-dae requested a re-examination of the holiday closure policy to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy culture, and the committee passed the proposal after modifying some definitions for clarity.
The 'Support Ordinance for the Korean Freedom Federation', proposed by Representative Park Min-hyeop, was passed as originally drafted. The Autonomous Administration Department responded that the organization, as a legal entity, contributes to the community through activities such as environmental campaigns and sharing meals with neighbours, and that it will thoroughly manage fairness and transparency in the support process.
In addition, the Autonomous City Committee reviewed the following: ▲ An amendment to the 'Management and Operation Ordinance for Sports Facilities' to expand benefits for families with multiple children and establish usage fees for Seunggi Stream Park Golf Course ▲ An amendment to the 'Installation and Operation Ordinance for Youth Facilities' to enhance the efficiency of youth facility operations.
Chairman Jeong Bo-hyun stated, "We discussed ordinances related to safety and culture that are closely related to the lives of residents in depth at the first meeting of the new year in 2026, and I hope that the approved matters will be appropriately reflected in the district administration to enhance residents' convenience."
