President Lee Sends Special Envoy to Honduras... Representatives Buseungchan and Lee Hoongi Appointed

President Lee Jae-myung is dispatching Buseungchan and Lee Hoongi, members of the Democratic Party, as special envoys to solidify the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries on the occasion of the inauguration of the new government in Honduras.

Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated in a written briefing on the 1st, "President Lee Jae-myung has decided to send Buseungchan, vice president of the Korea-Honduras Friendship Association, and Lee Hoongi, a director, as special envoys to enhance cooperation with the newly inaugurated government of Honduras."

The special envoy delegation, visiting Honduras from the 3rd to the 5th, will meet with the new president of Honduras. During this meeting, the delegation will detail the national philosophy and foreign policy principles of the Lee Jae-myung administration and deliver a letter expressing President Lee's strong commitment to the development of relations between the two countries.

Buseungchan and Lee Hoongi, dispatched as special envoys, are individuals who have actively participated in the Korea-Honduras Friendship Association, leading exchanges between the two countries. The government plans to establish an initial trust relationship with the new government of Honduras based on their expertise.

In addition to meeting with the president, the special envoy delegation plans to hold successive meetings with key political figures, including the Speaker of the Honduran National Congress. Our government aims to convey its intention to elevate the relationship between the two countries through this visit while also focusing on deriving practical cooperation measures.

In particular, it is expected that in-depth discussions will take place on strengthening partnerships in various fields, including economic cooperation, cultural solidarity, and expanding human exchanges.

Spokesperson Kang stated, "The dispatch of this special envoy is intended to convey our government's commitment to further strengthening the cooperative relationship with Honduras," adding that "diverse cooperation expansion measures encompassing both the economy and culture will be discussed."
