Ahead of the Seollal holiday, the Incheon Namchon Agricultural and Livestock Wholesale Market is expanding the supply of key seasonal goods and strengthening its operational system.

The Namchon Agricultural and Livestock Wholesale Market Management Office announced on the 30th that it will increase the supply of agricultural and livestock products by more than 15% compared to the previous year in preparation for the Seollal holiday, and will extend business hours during the festive period as part of a comprehensive response. This aims to minimize supply and demand instability and citizen inconvenience during the peak shopping season for the holiday.

The main agricultural products supplied during the Seollal holiday include nine items: apples, pears, napa cabbage, radishes, onions, garlic, potatoes, chestnuts, and jujubes, totaling 3,492 tons. Additionally, 537 tons of livestock products such as beef and pork have been secured. The wholesale market plans to adjust the timing of shipments considering the demand for ritual items and focus on minimizing price fluctuations.

Operating hours will also be temporarily adjusted. The Namchon Agricultural and Livestock Wholesale Market will extend its closing time from the usual 3 PM to 5 PM from February 2 to 16. It will also operate normally on its regular closing days, February 8 and 15, to reduce gaps in service during the holiday preparation period. The market will be closed from February 17 to 19 after the holiday, and will return to its regular operating system from the 20th. The food materials section will operate autonomously during this period.

Management to block illegal distribution activities taking advantage of the holiday will be strengthened. Inspections will focus on violations of trading order, such as unregistered transactions, operations outside permitted areas, and violations of business hours. Additionally, special safety inspections of the wholesale market facilities and emergency response systems will be activated.

Traffic management in preparation for an increase in visitors will also be implemented. Traffic safety personnel will be deployed, and cooperation with the Namdong District Office and Nonhyeon Police Station will be established to manage illegal parking and traffic flow in and out of the market. Environmental maintenance, including waste disposal and public restroom hygiene management, will also be strengthened.
