Kim Tae-gye, the Chairman of the Welfare Construction Committee of the Mitchell District Council (People Power Party, Sungui 1·2·3·4, Yonghyeon 1·2·3·4, Hakik 2), has called for proactive budget securing and thorough management to improve the usage environment of public and open toilets.
During the 293rd extraordinary session of the Mitchell District Council Welfare Construction Committee held on the 28th, Chairman Kim emphasized the need for budget support while checking the operational status of public toilets in the district.
Chairman Kim stated, "Recently, the usage of public and open toilets has noticeably increased," and pointed out, "Especially as the summer heat intensifies, the operating costs, including the operation of cooling facilities, are continuously rising." He further noted, "Since this is a space directly related to the hygiene and convenience of residents, we should not be satisfied with the current level and should more actively secure the budget reflecting the demands on the ground."
In response, a district official said, "The budget, which was 330 million won last year, has been slightly increased to 360 million won this year and is currently in operation," and added, "As the chairman pointed out, we will closely examine whether there are additional budget support needs for heat wave measures and actively reflect them."
Chairman Kim reiterated, "As the burden of energy costs for public facilities is increasing due to climate change, please pay special attention to ensure that residents do not experience inconvenience due to budget shortages."
On this day, Chairman Kim's remarks are interpreted as expressing the will to enhance the quality of public facilities as part of welfare closely related to daily life.
