Yoon Gu-young, Bupyeong District Council Member: "Website Visitors Double... We Must Show a Transparent Council in Response to Increased Public Interest"

Bupyeong District Council Member Yoon Gu-young (People Power Party·Samsan 2-dong, Bugae 2·3-dong) mentioned the explosive increase in visitors to the council's website and social media views, strongly urging for 'transparent information disclosure' and 'enhanced communication' to meet the heightened interest of the residents.

During the major work report for the first half of 2026 conducted on the 27th of last month, Council Member Yoon Gu-young continued in-depth inquiries regarding the future direction of legislative promotion and administration based on the recent external achievements of the Bupyeong District Council.

Council Member Yoon highly praised the fact that the comprehensive integrity level of the Bupyeong District Council rose from grade 3 to grade 2 last year. He encouraged, stating, "This is the result of the joint efforts of the council members and staff," while also demanding improvements in the transparency of administration. He pointed out that the integrity evaluation results currently posted on the website are fragmented and urged, "In accordance with the purpose of the Anti-Corruption Act, detailed materials should be supplemented and disclosed so that residents can fully understand the evaluation targets and methods."

In particular, Council Member Yoon noted the significant increase in the council's communication indicators. Presenting data showing that the number of visitors to the council's website surged from 38,600 in 2024 to 86,850 in 2025, an increase of about 125%, he interpreted this as a sign of heightened willingness among residents to participate in legislative activities.

Council Member Yoon emphasized, "The fact that visitors have more than doubled and YouTube views have surged is a very encouraging phenomenon," adding, "As the interest of the residents is so high, we council members must also feel a greater sense of responsibility and work hard." However, he mentioned some channels, such as Facebook, where views have stagnated, and requested, "Please make efforts to promote in various ways so that no resident feels excluded."

Additionally, Council Member Yoon checked the results of media exposure through press releases and the status of banner ad execution, carefully examining whether the promotional budget is being used appropriately to meet the residents' right to know.

Council Member Yoon Gu-young stated, "We should not be complacent with numerical achievements, and the council must operate in a way that residents can genuinely be satisfied," and added, "Based on the first half work report, I will take the lead in creating a Bupyeong District Council that works together with the residents in 2026."
