The Gyeyang District Autonomous Crime Prevention Union (Leader Cho Seong-hwan), which has quietly protected public safety in Incheon Gyeyang District, has made a resolution for local safety as it welcomes the New Year of 2026.

The Gyeyang District Autonomous Crime Prevention Union announced that it held the '2026 New Year Ceremony' on January 17, aimed at boosting the morale and unity of its members. The event started at the Gyeyang District Office and took place in the Gangwon Province area, serving as an opportunity to comfort the members who have dedicated themselves to patrolling vulnerable areas late at night and preventing crime, while also strengthening their bonds for the New Year.

The ceremony was attended by Leader Cho Seong-hwan, Yoon Hwan, Mayor of Gyeyang District, Shin Jeong-sook, Chairperson of the Gyeyang District Council, and Incheon City Council members Kim Jong-deuk and Cho Seong-hwan, who conveyed messages of encouragement to the members. Additionally, officials including Park Hae-jin, Koo Seung-seo, Hong Ui-hye, and Choi Jong-guk, advisors of the union, were present to wish for the development of the union.

The Gyeyang District Autonomous Crime Prevention Union has been performing the role of 'guardians of crime prevention' in various areas, including △night patrols in high-risk areas and dark alleys △youth guidance activities △maintaining order at local festivals and various public events. In particular, they conduct regular patrols focusing on security blind spots that are difficult for the police to reach, ensuring a safe return home for residents.

Leader Cho Seong-hwan stated, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to the members who have dedicated themselves day and night to ensure the safety of the community while also engaging in their livelihoods over the past year," and added, "In 2026, we will unite as one with the members and do our utmost to create an environment where the residents of Gyeyang District can live in peace."
