On the 29th, Kim Chun-soo, a councillor from Incheon Seo-gu (Democratic Party, Geomam-gyeongseo, Yeonhui-dong), held a civil complaint hearing meeting at the Seo-gu Council and requested the installation of an elevator at the Seo-gu Office's First Parking Lot.
Officials from the Seo-gu Office, including the Director of the Safety and Traffic Bureau, attended the meeting to discuss residents' inconveniences and improvement measures. The necessity of installing an elevator in the parking lot for the mobility-impaired was a key focus of the meeting.
The First Parking Lot, located on Masil Street in Seo-gu, was built with four floors, but it was pointed out that the stairs are steep and do not meet relevant standards, causing inconvenience for users. In particular, the absence of an elevator makes it difficult for mobility-impaired residents to use the parking lot.
Councillor Kim stated that this inconvenience is not an issue that should be delayed due to budget concerns and demanded prompt action. He said, "Ensuring the safety of residents and the rights of the mobility-impaired is the top priority," and added, "I will strive to ensure that it can be swiftly promoted through various funding sources such as special grants."
In response, the Seo-gu Office stated that it would review the inclusion of the project in next year's budget and would proceed with the project in stages.
