Concerns have been raised about the need to improve the appearance of the Incheon Gyeyang Cycle Stadium, which has facilities capable of hosting international competitions but is difficult for outsiders to recognize what it is.

Incheon City Council Member Shin Chung-sik (Independent·Seo-gu 4) argued during the major report of the Facility Management Corporation at the '306th Extraordinary Session' held on the 2nd that external structural improvements are urgent for ensuring safety and promoting the use of the Gyeyang Cycle Stadium velodrome.

At this meeting, Member Shin pointed out, "Despite Incheon having good sports facilities, there aren't even basic signs installed at the site to recognize it as a stadium," and emphasized, "It is necessary to carry out signage work on the exterior so that citizens can clearly identify it as a cycle stadium from the outside."

This is not just about decorating the exterior; it aims to clarify the identity of public sports facilities and enhance citizens' accessibility and safety. In particular, since the archery range and cycle stadium are internationally standardized facilities representing Incheon, there is also a call to further strengthen the professionalism of facility management.

Member Shin requested, "The managing entity, the corporation, should consider a structure that allows related associations to participate more actively in the operation of the facilities, leveraging the expertise of sports." This is based on the belief that the value of the facilities can be maximized when the voices of experts and user groups are reflected in the operations.

He continued, "The core of facility management is not just about maintaining and repairing old places, but about practically improving the quality of life for the citizens who use those spaces," and urged, "This year, I hope the Facility Management Corporation will be at the forefront of administration so that Incheon citizens can enjoy the safest and most pleasant facilities possible."
