The Incheon City Council has decided to join forces with a private professional organization to improve social awareness of organ donation and spread the culture of life sharing.

On the 2nd, the Incheon City Council announced that it had signed a 'Business Agreement (MOU) for Improving Awareness of Life Sharing and Spreading the Culture of Organ Donation' with the public interest corporation New Life Organ Donation Movement Headquarters in the central hall on the first floor of the city council building.

Attending the signing ceremony were Jeong Hae-gwon, the chairperson of the Incheon City Council, along with council members Yoon Jae-sang, Park Pan-soon, Shin Chung-sik, Lee Sun-ok, Jo Seong-hwan, and Chairman Min Chang-ki of the New Life Organ Donation Movement Headquarters.

According to this agreement, the two organizations plan to cooperate in various fields, including △promoting joint projects for improving awareness of life sharing △establishing an organic cooperation system for spreading the culture of organ donation △and human and material exchanges for mutual organizational development.

In particular, on this day, a practical event was held to add meaning to the agreement. Council members and staff from the council office, who resonated with the purpose of life sharing, participated directly in sharing the 'seeds of hope' by filling out organ donation wish registration forms on the spot.

Council member Park Pan-soon, who participated in the organ donation wish registration, stated, "Organ donation is the most valuable action that can save precious lives, and I realized that it is not a difficult choice at all when I actually participated." He added, "I hope that this agreement will lead more citizens to take an interest in the noble value of life sharing."

Chairperson Jeong Hae-gwon emphasized, "This agreement is a meaningful starting point for rooting a culture of life respect in the community," and stated, "The Incheon City Council will not stop at a one-time event but will actively engage in institutional support and promotional activities to ensure that the culture of life sharing is firmly established with the citizens."

The New Life Organ Donation Movement Headquarters also expressed, "We hope that the cooperation with the Incheon City Council will serve as a practical catalyst for improving citizens' awareness," and expressed their commitment to ongoing activities.
